Objective

Astrotalk aimed to scale user acquisition while maintaining strong early and mid-term monetization efficiency. The focus was not simply on driving installs, but on acquiring users who were more likely to engage with astrologers and convert into paying users over time.

Challenge

Astrotalk operates in a demand-driven marketplace where monetization depends on users actively engaging with astrologers and converting to paid consultations. While installs were scalable, many users dropped off after initial exploration or failed to convert beyond the first interaction.

The challenge was to acquire and re-engage users with a higher propensity to monetize, while recovering value from users who showed early intent but did not convert immediately all without increasing acquisition costs or harming unit economics.

Solution

A performance-driven programmatic strategy was implemented across both acquisition and re-engagement.

Campaign execution focused on:

  • Optimizing acquisition toward high-intent users based on post-install revenue signals
  • Running re-engagement campaigns to bring back users who had installed but not yet converted or had dropped off after initial interaction
  • Using timing, inventory, and behavioral signals to re-activate users during high-conversion moments

The addition of re-engagement ensured that users who did not convert immediately were systematically brought back into the funnel, improving overall recovery and revenue efficiency.
